Greta Thunberg in real life - at Montreal Climate March 2019

I took a day off from work and joined the climate strike. We are entering the busiest time at work, however, I thought it was important to be at the march.

I live in Montreal and Greta Thunberg was there too (not to mention that I was 5 meters away from this angel!!). She was funny, witty, and well spoken - she even opened her speech in French :) and listed out similarities between Sweden and Canada, which everyone loved!

Greta Thunberg speaking to 500,000 people at Montreal Climate March 27 Sep, 2019

500,000 people showed up for one purpose. Young, old, and in between had skipped their school and work to be there. Showed up for what is important.

This was one of the happiest days of my life.

I was so touched seeing that other people care about the earth as much as I do, and we can join and be strong together, and be heard!!

I teared up when I arrived at noon where the march was starting. I couldn’t believe how many people shared the same hope for our planet and the wish for changes to be made in our system. And I felt so blessed to be part of HISTORY!

What would people do when they go back home?

Will they still put their money into the meat industry, drive a car to work every day, get take out meals in single use containers, shop mindlessly, etc etc.

I am also part of the problem, although I try not to, every single day.

But it’s ok. The most important thing is that WE WERE THERE! And AWARENESS has been created in everyone’s heart. This movement will carry on in people’s heart - slowly and subconsciously people are going to start making little changes in their lives. And every little bit matters!

This is what we try to inspire here at Natural Nibs: You’ve got the power

You’ve got the power to make a change.

You’ve got the power to make a difference.

You’ve got the power to make an ethical choice - in what you eat, what you wear, what you buy, and so on - the list goes on.

You've got the power. Use that power to change the world.

One little step at a time - at your dinner table, your commute to work, recycling, reusable water bottles, reusable grocery bags, diva cups :D

You’ve got the power. Be good (to mother Earth).

And check out some pictures and videos we took here. People got real funny and creative!
